Holding My Faith & Brave in Between Miracles

Alert: This post is me sharing my tears of gratitude in seeing visible evidence of miracles

Before I could write this post, I had to choose if I wanted to BE BRAVE and share my vulnerability, so that I could share my authentic joy and gratitude.

Our family is in transition as we left a rural area to move to the city so my girl could attend school in a specialized setting. It was the best next step for her and re-locating takes time to get established.

I have wanted to offer Stella the opportunity to try downhill skiing or snowboarding when we lived in Rocky Mountain House and yet, I did not want to drive 2 hours in the winter to make this happen. Moving to Calgary made my dream more feasible.

We got ourselves registered with CADS Calgary in the fall and when the time came to suit up for snowboarding, it no longer felt financially feasible. So, I bowed out gracefully being honest and true. To my utter astonishment, a bursary existed and was offered to me. A lovely lady donated funds in honour of her husband. She may never know how she positively impacted others lives so I feel compelled to express my gratitude out into the world.

So Miss Stella showed up for her first lesson and had 3 assistants.

One of the organizers made my heart sing when he said that the goal is as much independence as reasonable and he hoped to have Stella on a chairlift. My knees almost buckled and I remembered when I was given a message to dream bigger than I had been taught.

I am on a mission to offer Stella opportunities to own her priceless gifts of ability, enabled, and empowered. I nurture the seeds of her feeling safe to try and learn something new and the feeling of independence. And I am so grateful to CADS Calgary to help move my mission forward, while I, as a mother, step back to create space for this to happen.

We are not meant to do this alone my fellow mammas and pappas. I firmly believe the universe is conspiring to help us if we know how we want to be and how we want to feel. May we all dare to dream a meaningful life for our children who interpret the world differently. Once we dream it, the ones to help us make it a reality will show up.
